Hiring a pet sitter is a major decision and we understand that there are a number of considerations to look into.

The care of your pets is likely the most important thing on your mind. There is other provision for them out there such as home boarding and kennels/catteries and the like. Some of these places provide a great service and look after your pets as well as they are able. But it’s simply not the same as the comfort and security your pet will have remaining in your own home.

What value do you place on your home and your pets? Whilst cost is a limiter for many people it shouldn’t be a barrier to getting the provision your pets need. Our prices are far from the highest in the industry but they’re also not the cheapest. Many competitor sitters will work purely for the ‘free holiday’ so if you want cheap there are plenty of hobby sitters to choose from. If what you want is professionalism and the highest standards in the industry then Sitter4Pets is the only choice.

Our sitters stay in your home for as long as you are away. That includes overnight. So you can be sure that your home is as secure and well looked after as it would be if you were still there yourself.

We are discreet. Our sitters use their own unmarked vehicles which means that prying eyes won’t know you’re away from your home.

We have a key holding service. We secure a duplicate of your key in our safe so that we always have one for your bookings. You only need to supply us with a key the first time that you use us which makes future bookings with us even simpler.

We are as paperless as possible. All your information is stored securely on an encrypted server. There are no paper forms sent out to capture your details. We don’t ask you to leave notes all round your house telling us all the little quirks you have. Nothing is left to chance and nothing can get missed or get lost. No other pet sitting company has anything even close to this (even the longest established ones).

Do you stay in my home?

Yes. For any multi-day sit your sitter will remain in your home overnight.

Do you charge extra to administer medications?

No. All tasks relating to your pet are included in the price quoted.

I have an exotic pet. Can you look after it?

We are happy to look after any pet. If you have something particularly unusual please provide details in the enquiry form. We’ll call you if we have any questions about it. We have looked after quite a number of exotic animals already.

What happens at the Pet Meet?

There are two types of Pet Meet that we operate. Initially there will be an online video meet where you can ask Eleanor any questions about how things work.

If it is considered necessary there is also an in person visit which is held in the comfort of your own home. The sitter that is scheduled to cover your booking will be the person that visits you. The meeting usually lasts about 40 to 50 minutes allowing plenty of time for the sitter to meet your pets and for you to see how well they get along. You are welcome to use this visit to show the sitter around your home. This will help them to know where things are, where they will be sleeping and to note any places locally such as dog walks, grocery stores etc. Eleanor may also attend this meeting.

Will I be able to check up on my pets?

We have an online system designed specifically to make sure you can remain updated on everything related to your pet and this system includes photos and short videos. It also covers tasks related to your home.

There is also a report for house duties such as bins taken out/put back, plants watered and security checks completed.

What happens in an emergency?

We have comprehensive procedures covering how to handle emergencies with both your pets and your property. Major incidents will be handled appropriately with the relevant emergency services. Minor emergencies will be handled by the sitter in liaison with Eleanor and any additional professionals that may be required.

In all cases you will be informed as soon as is practically possible and a full report of what happened and how it was resolved will be provided to you.

Are you qualified and insured?

Not only are all sitters fully qualified and operating under the Sitter4Pets comprehensive insurance policy they are also additionally experienced and Police checked.

We hold a Pet Sitting Insurance Policy with 5 Million Public Liability and £25,000 Injury to Animals cover.

Each sitter has experience with ear drops, eye drops, diabetes care, medications, applying/changing wound dressings and other similar medical care.

I have a gardener / window cleaner / other maintenance person who works for me – will they be able to do their job?

So long as you mention it in our form so that your sitter is aware then that will be fine. We won’t allow anyone not authorised by you to enter the property.
